The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry’s seeks to highlight local sustainability efforts like COR’s in new, permanent exhibit

Portland, Ore., May. 29, 2026 – City of Roses Disposal & Recycling (COR) is proud to announce its inclusion in OMSI’s newly renovated exhibit hall, ‘Climate of Change’.

Seeking to explore human resiliency and hope in the face of climate change, the permanent exhibit features first-hand stories surrounding climate change grounded within the context of the Pacific Northwest. As part of this objective, COR has been spotlighted for its electric truck grant awarded through the PGE Drive Change Fund.

Introduced in 2023, COR’s fully electric truck is the first of its kind in Oregon and represents a major milestone in sustainable disposal servicing. In speaking of the electric truck and COR’s commitment to local sustainability, CEO Alando Simpson stated,

“This milestone will create green jobs for our community, while linking together social, economic and environmental justice in ways our economy has never witnessed”.

Opened in Spring 2026, OMSI’s new Natural Sciences Hall offers Portlanders an interactive experience illustrating the relationship between humans and the environment, featuring narratives from the communities across Oregon most affected by climate change while showcasing their resilience, innovation, and collaborative efforts.
